Popular culture loves telling stories about vampires and werewolves crossing paths. Traditionally seen as enemies, the concept has been explored in recent years in everything from the Twilight series to Hemlock Grove. Years before either property sank their teeth and claws into audiences, however, the Underworld franchise modernized the concept with its stylized depiction of an endless war between two of moviedom’s most enduring boogeymen.
It’s been four years since the last foray into the Kate Beckinsale-led franchise last hit theaters with Underworld: Awakening. While that leaves plenty of room for doubt as to whether or not the series has any momentum left to capitalize on, such a question hasn’t stopped producers from moving full speed ahead with the fifth entry into the franchise, Underworld: Blood Wars. ...
