We’re just a couple weeks away now from the July 15 release of Paul Feig’s female-led Ghostbusters reboot, and the hype machine is running full tilt. While the film has some vocal detractors, the conversation only seems to be fueling public interest in the film, which stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon in the roles of the titular heroes. Despite the negativity surrounding the perceived replacement of the original comedy classic, veteran Ghostbusters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson have all had positive things to say about the film. This is especially meaningful coming from Murray, who has never been coy about his disdain for sequel plans in the past.
