In just over two weeks, Harry Potter fans across the globe will return to the Wizarding World with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The film, which was written by Harry Potter creator, J.K. Rowling (her first screenplay), takes place in 1926, and follows Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) as he tries to retrieve a bunch of on-the-loose magical creatures. It was recently announced that Fantastic Beasts would be the first film in a series of five that will continue to expand upon the Wizarding World that Rowling created nearly two decades ago.
While the eight Harry Potter films were all based on prior books, the source material is rather thin for the Fantastic Beasts series.
