The upcoming Ghostbusters reboot featuring all-female leads (with the exception of Chris Hemsworth as “Secretary Thor”) clearly needed everyone’s favorite ectoplasmic pal, Slimer, to round out the cast. Although the film includes all-new main human characters – as played by Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon – the Slimer character (who was famous enough to even appear in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series from 1986-1991) has, for all intents and purposes, stayed exactly the same.
While some fans may have expected to see a lady version of Slimer shoving multiple hot-dogs into her mouth in the Ghostbusters reboot, others were excited to see the inevitable return of the same-old Little Spud.
